Cheltenham Road

The section of what is now the A46 from Painswick to Prinknash was completed in 1819. It was then a toll road. Prior to that time, the road leading out of Painswick to Paradise and beyond started a hundred yards up Gloucester Street - just before The Manse. It joined what is now the Cheltenham Road just beyond Melrose Cottage.

Stonewyck, previously known as Stone Place (1984-1990), Stonewyck (1963-1980) and Stoneway (to 1959), was built c1830.
Stonecroft was built in mid 1930s.
Bunch of Grapes, known as The Grapes in 1912, was built c1830.
Greenacres Lawn was built in early 1930s.

Junction with Lower Washwell Lane

Greenacres, known as Plas yr Ackery (1912) and before that Plas Newydd, was built c 1870.
Columbus Cottage was built c1860.
Eden Cottage, previously known as Denmead (to 1990), was built c1840.
Washwell Cottages were built c1840.

Lavender Down, previously known as Walden (to 1984), was built about 1937.
Pipers Edge was built between in middle or late 1920s.
Elmer Lodge was built about 1960.
