Kemps Lane (South Street)

Kemps Lane is one of the old roads in Painswick. Before about the 1890s, it and Knapp Lane were known as South Street. Until the 1920s, most of the land on the south side of the road was field or allotment gardens.

North side:
Painswick Hotel can be seen on the 1820 map.
Hale Bank was built c1924 on the site of a building in ruins.


South side:
The Little House.
Cornelius Winter Cottage.
The Tower Cottage was built 1926.
St Davids can be seen on the 1839 map.
The Langet was built in about 1939.
Little Acre and Kemps Orchard were built in the late 1990s.
Fig Tree Cottage was built in early 1980s or a little earlier.
Wyck House was built in middle or late 1970s.
Ladymead was built in early 1950s.
