Lower Washwell Lane

Lower Washwell Lane is shown as a track on the 1820 map. Its junction with the Cheltenham Road was until c 1905 some 10 yards further north, running on a parallel line through what is now the gardens of Green Acres. Until the 1890s, it came to an end after Washwell Cottage, and the connection with Vicarage Street was a footpath across fields. The cul-de-sac at the end was added in the early 1960s.

North side:
Wynstowe was built in the late 1960s.
The Red House, previously Meadowcroft (-1948) and the Alexandra Home, was built c1890.
Meadowcroft was built in 2005.
Washwell Cottage, previously known as Mill Cottage, was built c1860.
Philden House, Greystones, Greenaway House, Ravenscroft, and Fallowfield were built in the early 1960s. Fair Hills is dated 1959.
Beechcroft and Whispering Trees were built in the early/mid 1960s.
Springacre was built in the mid 1960s.
Valley Lodge was built in about 1973.
Providence Cottage, formerly known as Cornbrash (1973-1987 and 1963) and Little Court (1968-1970), was built in early 1960s.
Rosemullion was built in about 1974.


South side:
Overmead and Staveley were built in the mid or late 1950s.
Cranwood, Meadowhill, Glebe End were built in the mid 1960s.
Woody Steeps was built in 1963.
